From September 13-15, 2022, Riyadh will be home to the second edition of the Global Artificial Intelligence Summit under the theme “Artificial Intelligence for the Good of Humanity.” Organized by the Saudi Authority for Data and Artificial Intelligence (SDAIA), the Global AI Summit will convene international policymakers, high-level representatives from technology, communications, and investment companies, and thought leaders from the global data and AI industries.
The summit’s stated goals include catalyzing growth and investment in smart cities and finding practical, life-improving applications for big data and AI. The summit will explore uses for AI in human capacity development, health care, transportation, energy, culture and heritage, environment, and the digital economy. The summit, which will feature 100 different speakers presenting in front of 3,000 participants, comes at a time when “AI is expected to boost global gross domestic product (GDP) by 14% by 2030, or nearly $15 trillion.”
Keynote speakers at the summit will include Amin Nasser, President and CEO of Saudi Aramco; Nadhmi A. Al-Nasr, CEO of NEOM; Kent Larson, Director of City Science at MIT; Dr. Seth Dobrin, Chief AI Officer of IBM, Anna Patterson, Vice President of Engineering at Google; Dr. Jürgen Schmidhuber, AI Initiative Director of KAUST; and many more influential and senior representatives from industry leading companies, startups, research institutes, and non-governmental organizations. The summit will also include panel discussions, breakout sessions, and accompanying workshops to encourage exchange of ideas and expertise.
