The Saudi Technology Development and Investment Company (TAQNIA) has selected Lockheed Martin to establish a new ground system to monitor and control the recently launched commercial communication satellite, SaudiGeoSat-1. The satellite’s communication payload and systems support advanced Ka-bond spot beam communications services and provides commercial broadband and secure communication services for Saudi Arabia. The ground system will allow Saudi Arabia to integrate Air and Missile Defense Systems to strengthen its national security and defense, aligning with Vision 2030. The system will be developed and deployed by TAQNIA and Lockheed Martin and will be rolled out in two phases starting by the end of this year.
