June 28, 2019 – Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC) unveiled its sustainability roadmap which outlines ambitious goals related to efficiency, climate change, food security, infrastructure, and environmental preservation. The new strategy touches upon the entire value chain, from the sourcing of sustainable materials and increasing energy efficiency across operations to advocating for multi-stakeholder action on the issue. As part of this roadmap, SABIC has pledged to reduce its energy consumption, emissions, and water use by 25 percent by 2025 and has plans to scale-up its plastic waste processing facilities.
