March 1, 2018 – Lockheed Martin has signed a teaming agreement with the Saudi-based Wahaj, a subsidiary of the Saudi International Petrochemical Company, to develop Saudi Arabia’s co-manufacturing capability of tail kits for Paveway II Plus Laser-Guided Bombs (LGBs). The agreement falls in line with the Kingdom’s efforts towards the diversification of its economy and the localization of its defense sector, and was announced during the Armed Forces Exhibition for Diversity of Requirements and Capabilities Conference in Riyadh. LGBs utilize cutting-edge technology to convert conventional gravity bombs into precision-guided bombs. Wahaj is a subsidiary of the Saudi International Petrochemical Company (Sipchem) and serves multiple industries.
