GE Power and the Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) signed two agreements to collaborate on identifying solutions which promote gas turbine efficiency and reduce ash resulting from fuel combustion. The agreement is part of an ongoing effort by SEC and GE Power to promote local innovation while integrating global solutions in the field of power generation within the Kingdom. The two companies had previously partnered to launch the Saudi PowerGen Efficiency Center (SPEC) to monitor 300 gas and steam turbines at SEC stations.
