G20 Ministers Plan to Hold Virtual Meetings to Minimize Impact of COVID-19 Pandemic on Healthcare, Agriculture, and Employment

The G20 Health Ministers will hold a meeting on April 19 to tackle the impact of COVID-19 on the global healthcare sector. Saudi Health Minister, Dr. Tawfiq Al-Rabiah, will lead the meeting to discuss providing quality healthcare, urging digital solutions for global coordination, and focusing on pandemic preparedness. Other items on the agenda include upholding patient safety and ensuring inclusive global response to health emergencies. The meeting will host G20 members, guest countries, international and regional organizations including the World Health Organization, the World Bank Group, and the United Nation’s Children’s Fund.  

The G20 Agriculture Ministers meeting will be held on April 21 to address the pandemic’s impact on food security and nutrition, improve global cooperation, and maintain supply chain of significant agricultural products to protect global food security and nutrition.  

Th G20 Employment Ministers will hold a meeting on April 23 to discuss impact on labor markets and improvements and better coordination of labor policies to ensure employment stability and security.
