The Saudi Cultural Mission in the United States hosted a workshop on May 21, 2026, titled “Roundtable on Internship Opportunities for Scholarship Students,” in partnership with the Commercial Attaché Office at the Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Washington, D.C. The event was attended by Deputy Chief of Mission Nawaf bin Khalid Al-Issa, Commercial Attaché Abdullah bin Suleiman Al-Masoud, and U.S.-Saudi Business Council President and CEO Charles Hallab, along with representatives from leading American companies in the energy, oil and gas, industrial, technology, services, and consulting sectors.
The workshop focused on exploring partnerships that would provide Saudi scholarship students with practical training and advanced technical development opportunities at major U.S. companies. The goal is to equip students with specialized professional experience related to their fields of study, enhance their readiness for the workforce, and enable them to bring valuable expertise back to the Kingdom in support of national development priorities and Vision 2030.
Saudi Cultural Attaché Dr. Tahani Al-Baiz emphasized the importance of investing in national talent, noting that scholarship students represent a critical pillar in developing the Kingdom’s future workforce. She highlighted the value of the knowledge, skills, and professional experience students gain through leading international universities and companies.
The workshop featured presentations and discussions on practical training opportunities, including CPT and OPT programs, as well as recruitment pathways aligned with company needs and the academic backgrounds of Saudi graduates. Participants also discussed mechanisms to support students’ transition into training and employment opportunities after graduation, while complying with applicable regulations.
Commercial Attaché Abdullah Al-Masoud noted that the event is part of a broader series of initiatives aimed at engaging a wider network of leading U.S. companies and strengthening collaboration with the American private sector to create high-quality training and professional development opportunities for Saudi students.
