USSABC Holds Exclusive Roundtable with Counselor for Commercial Affairs Douglas Wallace

On June 2, 2015, the U.S.-Saudi Arabian Business Council (USSABC) held a members-only roundtable discussion featuring Douglas Wallace, Counselor for Commercial Affairs at the U.S. Embassy in Riyadh.  The event was moderated by Lisa Schroeter, Global Director of Trade and Investment Policy from The Dow Chemical Company, and it was hosted at the offices of Baker & McKenzie.

Mr. Wallace spoke about the business climate in Saudi Arabia, highlighting some of the opportunities and challenges present in the Saudi market.  He noted that the U.S. Embassy is organizing four trade missions to the Kingdom over the course of the next 18 months in the architecture and engineering, healthcare, automotive, and defense and security sectors.

A group discussion commenced after Mr. Wallace finished his remarks.  Topics included the ease of doing business in the Kingdom, intellectual property rights, opportunities in the healthcare market, and more.

Members can receive an extended summary of the discussion by contacting Jay Ennis at jennis@us-sabc.org.
