Saudi Arabia Launches “Qiwa” E-Government App to Enhance Business Efficiency

Qiwa is an application created by the Saudi government to make it easier for investors and business owners to do business in the Kingdom, and to raise the quality of services provided by governmental and private agencies.

The app, launched by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, contains information on Saudi labor laws, policies, and regulations, and offers a range of services including visa issuance, temporary work visas, employee transfer, and 82 other functions. It also offers an interactive dashboard displaying market indicators, employment rates, and job sustainability.

Saudi Arabia’s shift towards digitalization has simplified business processes for expats, Saudis, and business owners. Qiwa allows a user to create an individual profile and share their verified information, and receive e-adviser services. Given changing laws and regulations, Qiwa also offers to alert businesses to avoid violations.  As of March 2021, Qiwa has received more than 500,000 registrations. For more information, please visit https://qiwa.sa/
