If your company is currently or expecting to export goods into Saudi Arabia, then you won’t want to miss our upcoming webinar to understand how new changes in the Saudi standards compliance processes will impact your products getting through customs.

The Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO), is the technical governmental body in Saudi Arabia that governs compliance and accreditation of Saudi Standards for all goods sold to and in the Kingdom.  SASO has implemented new procedures and fees in the past year through their new SALEEM and SABER platforms that significantly change the exporting process to Saudi Arabia. The SABER platform was inaugurated to manage the applications for Certificate of Conformity, while the technical regulations (termed SALEEM) are currently being phased in.

Webinar Objectives

  • Provide updates on the changes being made to the process of certifying goods for export and what to expect in Customs for a large number of products;
  • Explain the implementation of the SALEEM Technical Regulations;
  • Discuss the SABER platform’s Certificates of Conformity (COC) issuance process, and electronic issuance of the Shipment Certificate.

PRESENTER: David Gordon

Mr. David Gordon is currently the Sales & Business Development Manager of the Governments & Institutions Services division of SGS-North America.  SGS is the world’s leading inspection, verification, testing and certification company.  SGS has been appointed by SASO – the Saudi Arabian Standards, Metrology & Quality Organization – to issue Certificates of Conformity on all regulated imports into the Kingdom.  SGS manages this program for 16 countries across the Middle East and Africa.  With over 30 years’ experience in international business, Mr. Gordon understands the issues & obstacles facing transatlantic commerce.  In his role at SGS, he has developed expertise in regulatory demands and the various processes involved in assuring regulatory import compliance for those 16 countries.  David often lauds the boundless opportunities across the Kingdom for US manufacturers and suppliers, as KSA drives the development of new cities, industrial parks, airports, rail links, entertainment facilities and public works projects.
