March 8, 2018 – Britain’s energy service provider, Wood Group, was chosen by Saudi Aramco and Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC) to develop the world’s largest fully integrated crude oil to chemicals (COTC) complex in Saudi Arabia. Wood Group will develop the $20 billion complex, provide front-end engineering design and project management services during the engineering, procurement and construction phase. The complex will have the capacity to process 400,000 barrels a day and 9 million tons of base oils and chemicals annually. The agreement which was announced during H.R.H. Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s visit to the U.K. and reinforces the Kingdom’s efforts towards the diversification of its economy.
