The U.S.-Saudi Business Council, in collaboration with Ministry of Industry hosted a webinar with Dr Alex Hernandez, Director of Renewables at Industrial Cluster, Ministry of Industry. U.S. renewable sector and industry stakeholders gained insightful knowledge of the opportunities and development of the renewable energy industry in Saudi Arabia as part of the implementation of the National Industrial Strategy.
Dr. Hernandez provided insight into current reforms the Kingdom has undertaken to promote investments in the renewable energy sector and how the renewable clusters are central to the National Industrial Strategy. Dr. Hernandez provided an overview of the industrial clusters program and provided information on the roles of various Saudi entities in promoting renewable sector of the Kingdom.
Dr. Hernandez explained the Kingdom’s goal to develop a sustainable and competitive renewable energy industry strategy by supporting the development of renewable power generation projects in Saudi Arabia. He highlighted on specific opportunities for companies in the supply chain of the renewable energy sector and provided information on the regulatory landscape. Dr. Hernandez presented information on the Kingdom’s upcoming projects and pre-qualification process for the companies to bid on these projects.
In his remarks of the webinar, H. Delano Roosevelt, President and CEO of the U.S.-Saudi Business Council, emphasized the importance of Saudi Arabia’s efforts on promoting renewable sector in the Kingdom and thanked the attendees and urged the participants to take advantage of these opportunities.
