The U.S.-Saudi Business Council (USSBC) hosted a member-exclusive breakfast briefing in Riyadh on December 14, 2023. The event, organized to cover USSBC’s tentative calendar of events in 2024, gathered over 40 U.S. and Saudi members across many industries. Mr. Abdallah Jum’ah, Saudi Co-Chairman of the USSBC, offered welcoming remarks in which he stressed the special bond that membership establishes between the Council and its members.
Mr. Jum’ah also emphasized the importance of constant communication between the USSBC and its members to ensure the Council’s activities and services address their specific needs. Mr. Jum’ah reminded the audience that the Council is celebrating its 30th anniversary, while noting that Saudi Arabia was very different in 1993 and will be even more different 30 years from now. During this time, American companies have contributed significantly to the Kingdom’s transformation with the unwavering assistance of the USSBC. As Saudi Vision 2030 has set a clear direction in terms of economic diversification, there are unprecedented opportunities for the U.S. and Saudi business communities to come together through trade and commerce with the Council’s assistance.
Ana Carmen Neboisa, USSBC Vice President, presented the sectors the Council plans to prioritize, delegations it plans to lead to Saudi Arabia, and conferences and trade shows it plans to attend in the U.S. and Saudi Arabia. In brief, the Council aims to cover a diverse set of sectors including energy, industrial, and quality of life through its activities such as industry-day conferences, webinars, and business development missions to Saudi Arabia. The Council is considering attending U.S. trade shows in sectors including water, power, renewable energy, plastics, construction, automotive, clean power, and mining. Ms. Neboisa invited the Council’s Saudi members to take advantage of the Council’s attendance of these trade shows and utilize their free hours of consultation, included in each membership package.
