Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) finalized $1.46 billion (SR5.5 billion) worth of projects in the northern regions of Saudi Arabia. The projects included six facilities for electric energy transmission and five aerial lines for boosting electric interconnection. This includes a 790 circular kilometer long line between the Tarbajal and Tabuk plants. These upgrades connect the northern regions with the main power grid in order to boost development in the Tabuk, Jouf, and Northern Border regions. The interconnection projects are expected to save roughly 11.5 million barrels of diesel per year.
