September 5, 2018 – Saudi Aramco has awarded Baker Hughes an integrated service contract that includes drilling services, coiled tubing services and drilling fluids engineering services for the Marjan oilfield, one of Saudi Aramco’s offshore expansion projects. Drilling services will include logging-while-drilling, reservoir navigation services, and rotary steerable services. Currently, Marjan oilfield produces 500,000 bpd with plans to expand production to 800,000 bpd by 2023. The expansion of Marjan, in addition to the Zuluf and Berri oilfields, is expected to add over 1 million bpd to the Kingdom’s production capacity.
