USSBC Platinum member Olayan Group was recognized as the top Arab family business in 2021, according to Forbes Middle East’s “Top 100 Arab Family Businesses” list. The Group leaped from third overall in 2020 to lead all other Arab family businesses across the Middle East. In total, 36 Saudi companies comprised the list, the most among all the Arab nations, followed by the United Arab Emirates with 25 and Kuwait with 7. Other recognized USSBC members include Rashed A. Al Rashed & Sons Group, E.A. Juffali & Brothers, Zamil Group Holding, Dallah Albaraka Holding Co., Zahid Group Holding LLC, Xenel Group, Omar Kassem Alesayi Group, Yusuf Bin Ahmed Kanoo Company Ltd., Tamer Group, Alkhorayef Group Company Ltd., Al-Qahtani Holding, Alturki Holding, and Tamimi Group.
The rankings were limited to businesses that are jointly owned or run by family members and were based on the size of each company, number of total employees, sector and geographic diversification, performance of operational sectors, and age and legacy of the company.
