July 18, 2018 — The Naval Sea Systems Command has awarded Lockheed Martin a $405.7 million modification contract to build four Multi-Mission Surface Combatant (MMSC) ships for Saudi Arabia. The MMSC is a surface war ship, capable of coastal and open ocean operations. Work on the contract will be performed at various locations throughout the United States, Sweden, and Great Britain, and is expected to be completed by October 2025.
