GE signed an agreement with National Grid SA to deliver power to up to 25,000 homes and industries in the Kingdom’s southern region. As part of the agreement, four 132kV substations will be supplied on a turnkey basis. Two each will be sent to Asir and Jizan with a total capacity of 1,933 MVA. The deal also calls for upgrading four currently existing 132 kV substations using GE’s latest technologies. The agreement is part of Saudi Electricity Company’s larger effort to supply 50 percent more electric energy in the Kingdom by 2020.
