Saudi Healthcare Market Update
January 23 @ 9:00 am - 11:00 am UTC+3
January 23, 2023
9:00 am-11:00 am
Marriott Riyadh Diplomatic Quarter
Join the Ministry of Health and the U.S.-Saudi Business Council for an overview of the healthcare sector in Saudi Arabia, with an emphasis on projects, business, and investment opportunities in the short and medium term.
Register NowIn 2022, the Saudi Ministry of Health launched the Health Sector Transformation Program, part of Vision 2030, ensuring that the continued improvement of healthcare services and development of healthcare infrastructure will remain an important national priority.
The government plans to invest US$66.67 billion in healthcare infrastructure by 2030 and boost private sector participation from the current 40 per cent to 65 per cent by 2030, targeting the privatization of 290 hospitals and 2,300 primary health centers.
An increase in life expectancy from 76.4 to 81.8 year by 2050 and a rapid rise in population from 34.3 million in 2019 to 39.4 million by 2030 are key drivers of infrastructure demand. At the same time, the increase in life expectancy is creating a need for long-term care (LTC) facilities, rehabilitation and home healthcare services.
Saudi Arabia is also positioning itself to become one of the fastest-growing digital health markets in the MENA region. The government is allocating US$1.5 billion for healthcare IT and digital transformation programs. Digital innovations are enabling monitoring of patients in remote areas and critical early interventions, helping healthcare providers to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
