On May 7, 2019 the U.S.-Saudi Arabian Business Council, in partnership with the U.S. Commercial Service, hosted a breakfast briefing for companies interested in capitalizing on the Saudi civil aviation market. Over 20 businesses joined the Council’s CEO Edward Burton and the Commercial Counselor for Saudi Arabia, Nasir Abbasi, for an in-depth discussion about civil aviation in the Kingdom.
The Saudi Arabian civil aviation sector is expected to grow significantly by 2030, spurring the need for greater private sector investment. This growth presents an important commercial opportunity especially for U.S. companies who remain a preferred vendor in Saudi Arabia. As the Kingdom builds capacity they will need partners in airport management, airport operations and safety, airport design and construction, aviation IT, airline equipment and repairs, ground handling and workforce training and development.
The Council is planning several more information and networking briefs as it prepares for a civil aviation mission planned for early December 2019.
