The U.S.-Saudi Arabian Business Council will lead a delegation of companies in the medical and healthcare sectors to Saudi Arabia on May 19-21, 2014. The purpose of the mission is to meet with key stakeholders in the development of the Saudi medical and healthcare industries, identify business opportunities and potential business partners, and view first-hand the state of Saudi market by attending the Saudi Health Exhibitions and Conferences in Riyadh. The mission includes an exhibition space in the USSABC’s Pavilion during the Conferences, the largest platform in the Kingdom for regional and international healthcare manufacturers, distributors, and service providers. The event is expected to draw more than 6,500 visitors and will be a superb opportunity to network with key decision makers who are driving Saudi healthcare growth. Over 250 local and international companies are slated to exhibit during this year’s event.
Saudi Arabia is the largest medical and healthcare market in the Gulf region and spends more on healthcare services and infrastructure as percentage of GDP than any other country in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). Demand in the market will continue to rise as the Kingdom’s population of people aged over 65 is set to increase sevenfold over the next 25 years. Responding to the increasing need for healthcare and facilities, the Saudi Government allocated $28.8 billion to health and social affairs in its 2014 national budget.
The mission is ideal for U.S. medical and healthcare medical device, equipment, and supply manufacturers, and service providers. Further, new entrants to the Saudi market and prospective investors interested in expanding their business in the region would strongly benefit from attending.
Companies participating in the USSABC mission will receive a number of deliverables and services. The USSABC will assist companies in identifying investment and technology transfer opportunities in Saudi Arabia, organize one-on-one meetings with decision makers and relevant government officials, and provide valuable networking opportunities and comprehensive advice on doing business in Saudi Arabia.
