Jamil Alothman is Senior Advisor, Industrial Strategies of the U.S.-Saudi Arabian Business Council (“the Council”). In this position, Jamil provides industrial strategic planning guidance to Council professionals and to corporate clients. Jamil Alothman has in-depth knowledge, experience, skills, and expertise working with Saudi Arabia. Prior to joining the Business Council, he held several senior management level positions including Director of Industrial Cluster Department, Director of Investor Relations Department, and Director of Economic Development Department with the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu (RCJY). Jamil’s scope of work at the RCJY was primarily related to the chemical and petrochemical fields with proven accomplishments in assessing, analyzing, negotiating, and recommending optimum investment proposals based on strategy and organization objectives.
Additionally, Jamil Alothman has versatile experience in administering and interpreting global benchmarking studies to evaluate best-in-class business models that would optimize long-term investments. He has the ability to identify competitive advantage factors among investment alternatives, formulate strategies, and leverage market position accordingly, as well as a thorough understanding of cluster development, value chain analysis, and downstream investment opportunities. Jamil succeeded in attracting a number of petrochemical companies to locate in Jubail Industrial City with project capitalizations ranging between $100 million to $20 billion.
Jamil Alothman holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Dayton in Dayton, Ohio and a Masters Degree in Business Administration (MBA) from Howard University in Washington, D.C.
