July 3, 2019 – Steve Demetriou, CEO of Jacobs Engineering Group, and U.S. Co-Chairman of the U.S.-Saudi Arabian Business Council, has been recognized as one of the 100 most influential individuals working within the Middle East’s construction sector in Construction Week’s 2019 Power 100.
Between 2018-2019, Jacobs Engineering Group secured a series of projects in the Kingdom, including:
- Contract by SEPCO Electric Power Construction Corporation to deliver engineering services for packages 4, 5, and 6 for Saudi Aramco’s King Salman International Complex for Maritime Industries and Services in Ras Al-Khair.
- Contract from Rabigh Refining & Petrochemical Company to provide project management consultancy and pre-front end engineering design services for the company’s “Bottom of the Barrel” project.
- 2-year contract renewal to provide basic engineering, front end engineering design (FEED), detailed design, commissioning support, and other services for Saudi Aramco Total Refining and Petrochemical Company’s (SATORP) facilities in Jubail Industrial City 2.
- 3-year contract to provide engineering services, front-end engineering design, procurement, construction management, commissioning support and handover work for a portfolio of projects at the Yanbu Aramco Sinopec Refining Company (YASREF).
Other members of the Council were further recognized in Construction Week’s 2019 Power 100, including Khaled El Seif, El Seif Engineering and Contracting Company; Linh Austin; McDermott International, Inc.; Bakr bin Laden, Saudi Binladin Group; and Carlos Hernandez, Flour Corporation. Former Council board member David C. Welch, Bechtel Corporation, was also acknowledged.
The Dubai-based “Construction Week” followed the release of its 2019 Power 100 by listing the top 20 American construction companies currently operating in the Middle East, listing Council members Jacobs Engineering Group; McDermott International, Inc.; Fluor Corporation; KBR, Inc.; and Skidmore, Owings and Merrill, LLP.
