June 28, 2019 – The Qiddiya Investment Company revealed their highly anticipated plans for Qiddiya Entertainment City, a site located 28 miles from Riyadh and spanning 129 miles. The plans for this project were developed in coordination with the Danish company Bjarke Ingles Group and took into consideration the natural environment of the site. The project is organized around five nodes; a resort core, a speed park for motorsports, a city center for sports and the arts, and an Eco core which would be comprised of natural enclosures, a golf course, and a residential area. The first phase of the project is expected to be completed by 2022 and will include the opening of Six Flags Qiddiya in the city’s resort core.
