The Saudi Arabian Mining Company (Ma’aden) received an ISO 50001 energy certification for an ammonia plant run by its affiliate, Ma’aden Phosphate Company MPC). Developed by the International Organization for Standardization, the certification offers standards for energy management systems that reduce costs and improve energy performance and efficiency. MPC’s plant is the world’s largest single line ammonia facility. The company has previously received certifications for power and utilities, quality and environmental management, and occupational health and safety.
